George Thompson's Light poem

The Laughing, the teasing, the name calling

It drives the boy crazy

There's not much he can do

Except run through the darkness.

There's nothing he doesn't hear

Every cough' every tap, every breath

All he can do is listen

Just listen in the darkness.

All he wants is to be is normal

To fit in with everyone else

All he wants is to see his family

But life is different in the darkness.

Living in constant fear

So much fear for the blind boy

So much pain for the blind boy

There is endless pain for the blind boy.
